Liz,

Set backs are all part of the process. It's not how many times you get knocked down... it's how many times you get up. : ) It sounds like you've got a plan going forward!

Hi Audra,
Had a bit of a set back. I broke my toe two weeks ago dropping a ten pound weight on it . Yes, I was working out and I dropped it. So, I have backed too far off on workouts since I can obviously still work upper body and ride my bike. Argggg. This is the second broken toe I have had. Last time it was from kickboxing and then running five miles on it the same day. That hurt for a really long time.

Anyway, this weekend, I womaned up and went hiking up in Lake Tahoe since the weather was spectacular. It only hurt for a bit then felt better. It still aches today but no more than it has been.

This week I will go hiking on the trails in Almaden and I will start back on my morning workouts, even if it mostly focuses on upper body.

Have a great week.

My Big Why - I want to be able to do the things I do today, as I get older. Being able to hike, bike and have adventures with my husband as I get older is the real reason I'm doing this.

Here are my current 3 MUSTS I'm focusing on turning into habits:
1) exercise at least 30 min 6x/week AND 300 kcals min during an exercise session
2) Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day
3) Keeping a food journal AND keeping my sodium & fats in check

My community is mostly virtual - I have my Facebook friends who are checking in with me daily/weekly seeing how I'm doing on my goals, and I signed up for Saturday bootcamps during the challenge. So far it's working!

My Big Why: Because my mental health is directly tied to my physical health and when I move my body, my whole life feels better. I deserve to have that good feeling all the time.

My replacement habits: Exercise 5 days a week (used to be 2-3)...trying to make moving the default, instead of the exception. Also, MORE WATER. Working on erasing the diet soda.

My community: I run with two very active women every Wednesday, which keeps me more active the rest of the time (I have to, if I want to keep up with them!), and, of course, the Be Fit family!

I really don't crave sugar or sweets, it's SALTY snacks I crave. I find myself wanting chips, peanuts and crackers. Sweet cravings hit me periodically - maybe every 1-2 months. It's horrible and when I want a sweet, I must have it. My favorite story...after a dinner, I wanted something sweet SO badly. I went through every cupboard we have and found stale rice crispies and old hard marshmellows. I was possed, and yes, made the worst rice crispy bars, ever in recorded hostory. I had to have it and actually ATE them..egads. SO, while I don't crave sweets daily or even weekely, when I do, it's a driving force.
