I don’t know about you, but anytime I participate in some sort of fitness or nutrition challenge, it perks me up, and re-invigorates me along my path.
By no means are they a “magic pill”. But when you’re committed to improving your life through healthy habit changes, it becomes a life-long journey. And during that journey, different types of challenges can help keep you traveling the right direction.
Then it hit me like a huge ton of bricks that what I’ve been most successful at in my health, fitness, & nutrition career is getting people pumped up with different challenges!
I’ve run dozens of challenges with literally hundreds of participants each time getting awesome results. So, It’s time to do it again in a BIG way.
I’m putting together a ton of different 21-day (or 30-day) challenges for you:
Plank Challenge!
Squat Challenge!
Juice & Smoothie Challenge!
Yoga Challenge!
Meditation Challenge!
10,000 steps/day challenge!
The whole idea is to get you (and me) excited to move in the right direction, and to make it do-able. Anyone can focus on a Squat challenge for 21-days… and then before you know it, you’re rear-end is round and perky, your legs feel strong, and your mind feels accomplished.
All of which positively affects your self-esteem, thus creating an upward spiral of awesomeness! All that just from squatting!
What a great way to stay connected, build community, and follow through! It’s the small baby steps that will get you to where you want to go.
The challenges will be a free for all to participate in with prizes to top participants and finishers.
But here’s where you come in. I’m super stuck and really need your guidance. I have a a few questions I’d like you to answer:
Does this sound as fun to you as it does to me?
Which challenge would you want to do first?
Do you have other challenge ideas besides the one’s I listed?
I really really (really) want to know what you think. Can you do me a favor and leave your answers here on the blog? I will be reading and responding to each and every answer, so let me know!
Since I just purchased my first Vitamix Blender, the “smoothie challenge” sounds the best to me!
Sounds fun! How about an Ab challenge?
Hi Audra, I was exceptionally inspired by your “what death has taught me” and what to do here on planet earth. I’m inspired and interested in your quest of “service of helping women end their internal abuse and suffering”. I lost my grandmother last year and saw the exact same thing in my ancestral linage as you did in yours. If you are looking for other inspired women to join your quest, please feel free to contact me. I currently work in women’s health care and am looking towards more involvement in holistic care, total wellbeing and preventative care. I’ve recently discovered meditation and love the calmness meditation and learning to be still has given me an entirely new perspective. Anyway I love the challenge ideas and can completely relate to the thought that after a while I get bored in the same routine. The challenges that sound most interesting to me are the Juice & Smoothie Challenge, The Yoga Challenge and the Meditation Challenge. Thanks for thinking of us women. – Jasmine
Thank you so much for the kind words, Jasmine.
Meditation has also rocked my world upside down. I’ve been preaching it for maybe a decade, but have only recently embedded it into my daily life 1-2 years ago through my rigorous yoga teacher training. It changes everything.
Juice and smoothie challenge and the AB challenge sound great!
Does this sound as fun to you as it does to me?
I love these types of challenges and it’s fun doing it as a group! I had done a squat challenge back in November and it was pretty fun!!
Which challenge would you want to do first?
Steps or squat
Do you have other challenge ideas besides the one’s I listed?
Leg lifts? push-ups? sit-ups? That’s all I can think of off the top of my head 🙂
Awesome feedback, Cheryl… thanks!
It’s sounding like the squat challenge will be first in line. So excited!
I’m up for all but the 10000 step one. Since I can’t get up from my desk whenever I want, it would be hard to do that one, but I’m definitely interested in the others. It was good to see you when you stopped briefly to pick up your Mom. Hope to see you again next time you come to Dallas. Take care.
Hey Paula! I think a squat challenge would be good for you. You can do those at your desk anytime you need a mini-break! Stay tuned!
I’m very interested in 3 of them, but maybe I should get too ‘challenge’ crazy! These are my choices and I do believe I can take them all on. Bring it, baby! Thanks for keeping us motivated, Audra!
Cheers,
-Patti
Plank Challenge
Juice & Smoothie Challenge
Meditation Challenge
Thanks Patti! I think you can take them all on plus 3 more! We’ll probably start with the squat challenge, but stay tuned…. juice & Smoothie Challenge + Plank/meditation challenge are right around the corner! : )
Audra,
I recently bought a home in Modesto so I’m no longer a Campbell resident but I still work in the Bay Area. Needless to say, my crazy commute leaves me little time to do anything but I’m determined to squeeze in some exercise time so these challenges sound like a good idea-I need to commit to something!
Awesome Mary. I have to say, the reason I’m “up-ing my game” online is for people like you who maybe met me via my outdoor fitness company (Be Fit Boot Camps), but can’t necessarily make it out there anymore. These challenges are SOOO do-able! Stay tuned and we’ll get started asap!
I purchased a juicer 2 – 3 years ago and am currently on a 30 day juice challenge. I am on the 10 day and it is easy and great for me. I feel awesome. Also, I am on a 30 day 30 minute walk, trot, or jog on my treadmill. I think I am interested in the squat challenge and maybe yoga. Thanks for continued support.
Awesome Carmen.
Isn’t it great how challenges can get ya’ going? Keep it up and stay tuned for my upcoming challenge…
Juice challenge! And. 10000 steps a day.
Squat challenge and Juice and Smoothie challenge sound fun!
Thanks Vivian! I’m starting to think we’ll start with a squat challenge… stay tuned!
They all sound fun. I also like what others have suggested such as meditation and sit-up/push-up challenge.
I’m totally down for a meditation challenge, too. I think a lot of us could use it! : )
Yes! It sounds great! I recently started a 30 days ab challenge with a friend and a few days later started a squat challenge with co-workers. Even on our days off, we check in via text to help keep everyone accountable!!
I’d like to try the yoga challenge. (Since I don’t really do yoga, but probably should).
I’d love to try both the Thigh Challenge and Butt Challenge. (30dayfitnesschallenges.com)
Thanks Angela! Yes, doing these kinds of things with friends and coworkers makes it all the more fun!
10,000 steps
And Meditation challenges for me!
And yes, anything to help me be accountable. You are great at motivating, girl!
I have so loved your Clean & Lean!
Yay for the Clean & Lean! And I agree… I want to offer the challenges to help keep ME accountable!
I’m into the squat and meditation challenges!
Awesome! Me too. I’m thinking the squat challenge might be first… stay tuned!
I would def participate in all the challenges. I think this would be a good way to keep workouts fresh and find new things to incorporate into a regular routine. I would be especially excited to do a Plank Challenge or Squat Challenge. I am also interested in doing a Juice/Smoothie Challenge as I am new to the smoothie thing as a part of my regular routine and this would provide me with so many ideas to incorporate into my life. I also like someone’s suggestion of an Ab Challenge.
Audra, I think these challenges are a GREAT idea and look forward to participating except maybe yoga. I’m probably the only person on the planet who has never done yoga. This might be too hard to put together but since we’re just brainstorming, I think an obstacle course challenge we could do as a group would be fun too.
