Baked Apples with Oatmeal Crisp Topping
How about them apples?
These taste like apple crisp but better…because they’re in the apple and who doesn’t want to make their food into a serving bowl too? I want to swan dive into these with a spoon but moderation is sometimes a thing I try to practice. Being an adult is hard and no one warns you. That’s why I love these – you can have your cake and eat it too.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 3 tablespoons butter, cold and diced (MUST be cold – trust me)
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 cup oats, uncooked
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350
- Cut apples in half, take out core. (you can butterfly too)
- Place in baking dish with enough water to just cover bottom.
- Mix oats, flour, sugar and cinnamon together. Add to apples.
- Top with butter cubes.
- Bake until apple is soft, about 40 minutes.
