Hero of the Week

Happy Friday!

Well, it was another awesome week of Bootcamp Training Sessions. The energy was high and the weather actually cooperated with us this week! As always, congrats to all the dedicated Campers out there who made it to at least 4 sessions this week.

In Willow Glen, I have a very special congratulations to give out to Janel. She was starting to miss a few classes in the last few weeks, but after a pretty important talk about motivation, she showed up to every 6am session this week!

So Janel is honored with our “Hero of the Week”

title.Congratulations Janel for showing up!

Congrats Janel!

Congrats to our Hero of the Week: Janel!

Sometimes….scratch that…most of the time, that’s really what matters.

When Janel said that she wasn’t feeling “motivated” (and heck…who doesn’t feel that way sometimes?), I had a few things to say about the feeling of motivation. Here’s my take on it:

Motivation is just something you feel in the moment. Sometimes you “feel” motivated, sometimes you don’t. When it comes to taking care of your body, your health, your life…when it comes to instilling exercise as a habit, the truth is motivation has very little to do with it. What matters more than motivation is your ability to show up. Your consistent action of doing what it is you know you need to do.

The truth is, if you want to change your fitness, your health, the shape of your body,or

lose weight…you need to show up to your training sessions.

Every time.

Consistently.

Motivated or not.

Motivation is not the key. Consistency is the key.

And do you want to know the craziest thing about this whole thing? The more you just show up…the more motivated you end up becoming! It’s crazy!

So if you had a less-than-motivating week, let this be your friendly reminder to…GET YOUR BUT TO BOOTCAMP!

MAKE SURE TO KEEP ME POSTED ON WHAT YOU’RE DOING IN BOOTCAMP BELOW:

1. DID YOU SHOW UP TO BOOTCAMP AT LEAST 4 TIMES THIS WEEK? LET ME KNOW!

2. IF YOU DIDN’T, BUT KNOW YOU SHOULD HAVE…LET ME KNOW!

Have a great weekend everyone! Get ready to rock it out in March!

Client of the Month: February

Congrats to Laura!

We just finished up our very first month at our Willow Glen location. We meet Monday through Thursday at 6am at the Willow Glen High School Track. We started this Bootcamp with about 15 new members, and Laura was one of the brave who showed up on January 23rd in the dark.

Laura stood out almost immediately because no matter how early I showed up, I could never get there before her! She likes to show up a little before class and get a few laps around the track in before Bootcamp starts.

Wow.

Even in the darkness of 6am and the baggy clothes, I can still see her body changing. I asked her what she likes best about Bootcamp and also what positive gains she’s made in the past month. Here’s what Laura had to say:

1. I am seeing results so much faster than I have with other workouts. I love working out with other folks; the energy helps get me over the hurdles.

2. I am getting toned up, stronger and feeling energetic throughout the day. I have noticed that when I follow the suggestions about food, water and vitamins, that I am not getting the sugar cravings.

Audra this is the best workout I have had for over ten years.

Thank you for all of the encouragement, positive energy and for changing up the routine!”

When you see Laura in Willow Glen during the week or at Vasona Park on Saturday mornings, make sure to congratulate her!

Congratulations Laura!!!

Client of the Month…Congrats Susan!

Congratulation to Susan who has the distinguished honor : ) of being our January Client of the Month!

I chose Susan because her story is inspirational. As a mom with two small children, she joined Red Shift Bootcamp last June, about the same time we ran our first ever Best Body Challenge.

She really took it to heart, carving out time for exercise (the only possible hour was at 6am, when she could sneak out of the house before her busy day started), and making some strong decisions to change her diet and stick with it.

Since we are kicking off our January 2010 Best Body Challenge, I thought it would be a great idea to bring Susan into the spotlight, as she was our big winner during our last challenge.

Hearing her story and seeing her results is just another way to get you pumped up and fired up to get the same results for yourself.

In the video, she also reveals some of her secrets for getting into such great shape, from the amount of time she spends exercising, to some of her nutrition secrets, too.

ENJOY!!!

Pps…The truth is…it’s all about action. Taking action could be the biggest indicator of changing your life and living in a body you love. Sign up here for Bootcamp!
